What is PDI Tourist Card (Tarjeta de Turismo) in Chile and where do I get it?
When you arrive in Chile, immigration officers from the PDI (Policía de Investigaciones de Chile) will give you a small paper slip known as the Tarjeta de Turismo (Tourist Card). This document proves that you are legally entering the country as a tourist and shows how long you can stay (usually up to 90 days).
It’s important to keep this card safe during your trip. You’ll need to present it when you leave the country, and many facilities may require it to waive the 19% VAT on your stay.
We recommend storing it with your passport and taking a photo of it just in case.
